Dodgeball la de 2011 Star Online Carnivale

" What is MAD? Isn't that orange ball looks like a basketball? " asked the curious shoppers.

" Can my children join the other kids to have fun too? "




The Star Online Carnivale is back with a bang after almost a year! The kick-start of the Star Online Carnivale started from November 18th (Friday) to 20th (Sunday), 11am to 7pm held at Tropicana City Mall has received a great response with hundreds of shoppers to participate in all the organised activities. It was an honored that Malaysia Association of Dodogeball (MAD) was part of the partnership of the Star Online Carnivale by giving demonstrations and workshops on November 19th (Saturday) and 20th (Sunday).



In collaboration part of the Star Online Carnivale, MAD planned special activities to gain the awareness and interest of Malaysian public towards this newly known sports – dodgeball. As Patches O’Houlihan (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) once said, “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.” No throwing of wrenches will be allowed though, but MAD has organised activities like dodgeball clinic session and “Last Team Stands’ League” to gain the participation of public who came shopping at Tropicana City Mall to participate in the activities.





Saturday, 19th November 2011 – It was the ever first time that MAD was given this special request to set up the mini-sized dodgeball court, which only allowed each team to form maximum of 3 players for each side to be in the court. MaGaCon, short for Malaysian Gamers Convention booth has the most publicity gained since the first day of the Star Online Carnivale, but the challenging part where MAD crew members tried their best to promote their enthusiastic of dodgeball through the dodgeball clinic session, which actually caught the attention of parents who brought along their children for family weekend outing at Tropicana City Mall.

“I am a bit scared because the ball is fast and hard but I had fun,” said the 7-year-old student.


Children from age ranged of kindergarten to secondary school joined the fun of throwing, dodging and catching in the well-netted dodgeball court. They even had great opportunity to learn the proper way to throw and catch the dodgeball that was guided by the four-experienced MAD crew. In the latter, the dodgeball court seemed to turn into a children amazement park as even the timid kindergarten kids showed their courage to join the other kids to have fun in the court.

Sunday, 20th November 2011 – The day started with more crowds who learned about the Star Online Carnivale, which kicked off at Tropicana City Mall again, with most shoppers leaped their step towards the concourse area to join the fun and laughter of the activities held.



The mini-sized dodgeball court attracted attention of players from the top teams of Campus Dodgeball League (CDL), including Taylors’ College, Masterskills University College and HELP University College to help out the MAD crew members to demonstrate for the dodgeball clinic sessions. MAD players from Bandar Tasik Selatan gave their support for the day.

Registration for the male and female participants of the “Last Team Stands’ League” ended at 2pm, where the atmosphere boost up when during the start of registration at noon time, the dodgeball court attracted the public to watch the friendly match (best of 3 games) held between team of crew members from the R.AGE (part of the participating portal) versus team of Red FM Late Night Love Songs’ DJ, Mynn. R.AGE crew members defeated DJ Mynn’s team by 2-1.

The overwhelming response from the public and support of MAD players from Bandar Tasik Selatan (total of 12 teams) participated in the “Last Team Stands’ League” battling it out in the mini-sized dodgeball court with 3 players in each team. With supporters in tow, we called the never-say-die spirit! MAD being first time organized the “Last Team Stands’ League” did a great job. Meanwhile, the first time participation of the public showed their prowess in the league.

Laptop Operation

my new laptop which i bought when i
was still in Newcastle has malfunction
somehow it has been the 3rd day but
the problem still cannot be detected
well, at first was suspecting to be virus
or malware affecting it to be malfunction,
and the possibilities of Windows OS
crashing is also partly of the reason
in the end decided to undergo a laptop
operation with my sifu - Nick Kor Kor =)

it has been my first time still
staying late in office till
about almost 8pm for work
somehow the feeling is great
to stay back in office as
my boss are all working with
total stress free and the
environment of the office was
boost up with energetic songs



the nightmare came when i was
on my way back coming out from
Uptown Damansara where the main
road was totally packed with jam
that it tooked me for 30 minutes
to reach home (normally i only
take 10 minutes to reach home)

Church

it was my second time to church
Central Christian Church where
i finally get along with the
brothers and sisters in church



the feeling somehow kind of
seriously made me relax and
think more optimistically



lunch with the brothers and
sisters from church at Forum 19
was awesome where there were
so many unique conversations
on going at the same time

as we can see King Solomon has all
the pleasure but still he himself is
investigating the pleasure that he has

somehow rethink back the question that
was being asked previously, are we able
to succeed our dreams in our life and
are we able to not to be demanding in
our life for wealth ?

never an end where we should learn how
to be thankful of what we have and being
the lucky ones to continue to live

why can't people understand the
situation before they blame ???

each other to solve the problem ???



i really cannot understand
why humans were born to be just
like what i had mentioned above
it seems to be kinda unfair



everyone has the "weird" intuition
towards different circumstances
blames often happens when a person
him or herself just kinda wana
stay away from mistakes or wrongs



but sometimes is just so hurting
and made us furious when a wrong
person is being blamed at the
wrong moment with wrong situation



insulting is what i hate the most
insults were words that really
hurts the inner part of the
blood tubes that were in fragile hearts



i don't understand why some people
"decreased" their views of situations
and even some were comparing of
what that happens in the past with the
current situation that is happening



can you imagine, a prisoner who stands
and waits for the turn to be gun-shot
will still have the mercy of public
to forgive the wrongs of what the
prisoner did previously in the past



a person who sees the past will
one day regrets and tries to
change as soon as possible
so why not give a chance to all these
people who tries to be changing hard



why can't a person broaden the view
of the perception towards a person
trying not to compare the past with
the current situation that were
overcoming ourselves to adapt into it

HOPE : Family Carnival Charity Day 2011

6th November 2011


headed to Elaine's house at 9:30am
and went to church with her for the
first time for Sunday's service with
great sharing done by brother Vincent



after the service had to help out the
sisters for tomorrow's big event HOPE's
Family Carnival Charity Day 2011 at
Pandan Indah which will be starting at 9
was responsible to bring three boxes of
cupcakes home for the stall selling



left church almost about 2pm where a heavy
downpour came and the brothers and sisters
were happy and hoping that after this rain
it won't be raining for the event tomorrow



headed for lunch with Charmaine at a nearby
mamak and we actually filled up our tummies
before start working then headed to Digital
Mall to get Charmaine a pendrive with the
best price given by A-One Plus and i get
myself a wireless mouse for only RM36.50



headed off from Section 14's area to Giant
to buy freezer storage wrapper and marker
pen for the tomorrow's collected coupons
and next off we head to Pandan Indah



upon arrival the place was at first totally
empty and all i could see was just the
children's playground with no set up tents
and what happen next will allow the pictures
do the talking for the event :

helped out Ivy to write the tags of the item
sale's coupon for each and every stall, and
each and every item were meant to be sold



headed back home from Pandan Indah at around
8:30pm by Charmaine's car and ended did not
managed to go to Elaine's house to overnight

7th November 2011

woke up at 5:30am in the early morning
where supposed to wait for Elaine to
picked me up at 6am before heading off
to Pandan Indah for the event : HOPE -
Family Carnival Charity Day 2011



in the end waited for El Fuon only
made Elaine managed to pick me up
from my house at 6:40am and off we
go to Pandan Indah



somehow it was my bad to missed the
junction after PGRM as to turned into
Pandan Indah but in the end we managed
to reached on time to start helping out


the Organic Biscuits & Haco Coffee that
my stall supposed to be selling


Organic Biscuits, 1 box for 12 coupons & 2 boxes for 20 coupons;
lunch time Happy Hour was 2 boxes for 15 coupons, and till
the end of the day reduced to 3 boxes for 10 coupons


after the carnival's environment the crowds lessen but you can see
voluntary staff in their HOPE blue T-Shirt has increased

today's bible talk has grown to
become a bigger family with the
additional three new comers as
again its totally a different
bible talk where we had Chinese



as usual Ricky gave the sharing

the bible and experience sharing

welcome the three new comers -

somehow it was a heavy downpour
before the mid-week get to start
and everyone was caught in the
after work heavy traffic where
mid-week only gets to start at 8



after mid-week session ended quite
early at about 10pm fetched my mom
back home and headed back nearby the
church to 3 Two Square's Paparich to
celebrate Choi Lee's birthday
