Continuation article of 爱的领悟。。。

What is love? Benjamin Franklin once said "If you would be loved, love and be lovable." Love is something we all experience at least once in our life. There are many different meanings for the word 'love' and most people interpret it differently. The word 'love' as defined by the Webster's dictionary is "a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person."

On the other hand, love can also easily be defined as having a strong affection, devotion, passion, desire, warmth, respect and loyalty. It does not matter which of these words represents love because they are all the forms of love. Some of them are powerful and demand attention. while others are so precise as to be difficult to describe which is just below the surface.

Besides, love is sharing. Sharing is being honest about yourself and allowing other people involved in the relationship as to know who you really are. Being able to share your problems with your family and friends is the step in the right direction to a love route. As we could see, many marriages and friendships come to an abrupt and untimely and because the two parties could not communicate properly.

Sometimes, I wonder about love. I am sure everyone does, every now and then. I often ask myself, what exactly is love? At last, I am attempting to formulate this complex quixotic phenomenon. I admit that love is compassion. To me, in order to have love, one must first understand and share with one another.

Many people often think that they will be happy when they are in love. For example, there was a lovely old woman lying on her deathbed whose children rallied around her. She told them that "Everyone, no matter how secure they seem, no matter how old or young, how rich or poor had need of me." (Can field 117-118) In my opinion, love contributes happiness in a person's life.

Have you ever wondered, when you love someone you are not only caring about him as a person, but also his well-being. For example, when he is hurt, you will feel hurt and when he is in pain, you will also fell the pain too. The physical and emotional problems are not only his, but they are ours as well.

In another way, love has also been the plot of movies and stories. Love always motivates peace, but it also motivates tragedies. "O, speak again bright angel, for thou are as glorious to this night being over my head, as a winged messenger of heaven." These are the famous lines of Romeo Montague in the play 'Romeo and Juliet', by William Shakespeare. The two main characters, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet became the victims of Cupid's arrow after they met at a masquerade ball. As love started between them, the conflicts and tragedies in the story started.

In conclusion, love, to me, is still a buffing mystery as mysterious of the Bermuda Triangle. What do I say? I believe that there would be no definite definition acceptable to everyone. Love is uncontrollable, unexplainable and emotional. So, love has to be experienced in order to understand its meaning.
