January Randomness.....

Too much to write about recently
till i didn't know where to start
from as Chinese New Year was very
happening and filled tremendously

***

visited Pavilion on the 26th Jan
was my first time heading there
and felt myself being so "kampung"
managed to capture a few shots of
the buddy bears of 146 countries

walking along the pathway of food
and beverage and managed to had
the chance to dine in one of my
aunt's opened restaurant at the
well-known shopping mall

***

26th & 27th January catching up
with old friends - the VR1 guys,
high school mates, super old
college mates etc. it is hard
to write in words but the
moments will be remembered
than writing it in words

***

Chinese New Year is all about
food where yee sang is totally
not missing away from any day
during CNY, had a ex-company
and known as father's business
partner who organized a CNY
dinner and also my own company's
internal lunch, and again is
about FOOD... Huat Ahhhhh~

***

the randomness of some college
friends came to my house for
CNY visit too and well had
great fun where again something
that CNY couldn't stay away from
aka gambling of the blackjack

***

tested a new Korean Restaurant at
Jaya One named, KimchiHaru where
i had it for dinner overall was
just moderate and it will be the
first and the last time to dine

Viral Factor 逆战

xxx

Viral Factor (逆战) was considered my first movie of 2012 released. It was a coincidence that it was Chinese New Year, and I had the time to join two different groups into the cinema to watch this movie twice. I remembered Jay Chou's most actively played role in the movie was "Initial D", and his some other movies were more to Romance - "The Secret".

It was all the way where I heard friends telling me of how good the movie, "Viral Factor" is, maybe it is due to the presence of Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse. Also, the filming venue was mainly in the few familiar venues that we known of, our country Malaysia. I went for the movie with the similar reasons.

Frankly speaking, I did not expect the movie to start with a Prologue, where Jay Chou himself unpredicting the character whom always gives him an helping hand which was his brother, Man Fei (Nicholas Tse). With the two main international actors mentioned above playing the role as brothers revolves around an unknown virus that could be global threat along with the relationship of the brothers.

The starting point at Jordan was filled with explosive action packed scenes. The guns and the tanks that duel between the officers and enemies was well shot with good sound effect and audio. With a simple story told to the audience that reflects of how the people in Jordan deal with blackmailing and enemies retreat.

Not forgetting to mention that Nicholas Tse's acting was good in the movie. Nicholas' acting was undeniable so much above Jay which the point of excitement was given to the film. Being a bad side of himself in the enemy, his background was reflected of how he was brought up with purpose in life of taking good care of his father and daughter, which is somehow not a wrong path but was being forced by situations.

The surprising part of the movie was they managed to shot those scenes in the busy and crowded area of Kuala Lumpur, for example Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Raja Chulan, the amain pathway of Pavilion, KL Sentral, Golden Triangle, Port Klang, Pudu... etc. There was so much of actions and gun fights mentioned at the areas.

Somehow to review back the malay language spoken in the movie was a little spoilt to the movie as the language spoken could not be even spoken fluently. Also, there was a particular scene where the exterior of flight showing Air Asia and Malaysia flag. With the usage of Perodua Myvi seems to be showing the audience the "good" side of our own countries' productivity. My question is why couldn't they use Malaysia Airline and Proton?

Somehow, to continue writing, I will perhaps recommend you guys to watch it in the cinema and enjoy the short plot of the whole movie.

Movie Rating: 8.5/10

feeling honoured to be invited by Elaine
to Burt & Whye Leng's house for CNY

visit to their house only i knew that dinner
was at this long-heard Nyonya Restuarant
named, THE TRANQUERAH

TRANQUERAH refers to a road in Malacca
a part of Malacca city was originated
from the Portuguese word, "palisades"
which means entrenchment or outworks
made from stakes driven into the ground
a fortress to protect the town

this restaurant named, The Tranquerah -

Red Carpet Avenue, Encorp Strand provides
a unique dining environment where East
meets West that serves authentic Nyonya
cuisine a heritage setting design place

meet Aunty Florence Tan which is the recipe
contributor to The Tranquerah which serves
unique and aromatic Nyonya Cuisine

anywhere that you could still find chairs
made of biscuit tins these days? This reminds
me of Old School time and also the Malacca's
era of Baba and Nyonya living lifestyle

look at the menu which was design to feel
"old school" with the yellowish-brown paper
and the cursive writings reminds me of those
time when ball pen was invented

when it comes to Nyonya cuisine sambal belacan
is never disappearing from the serve on table
it is the most unique small dish to with the
main course that will never go missing

PONG TEH - famous peranakan nyonya dish where
chicken or pork stew are cooked with fermented
soybean paste, potatoes and shiitake mushrooms
this dish is surely be found on a Nyonya meal

IKAN CINCARU SUMBAT (Stuffed Fish) - lots of
sambal been stuffed into cincaru to marinate
and provides the juiciness of the fish while
infusing flavours of sambal into the fish

CINCALUK OMELETTE - made by fermented shrimps
known as "gerago" or "geragau" caused saltiness
sauted with big onions and chilli before breaking
the eggs to give a stir by adding the cincalok
and cook it over low to medium heat in a pan
the salt is ommited as the shrimps were the ones
causing the saltiness and calamansi juice is
squeezed before serving this dish on the table

SAMBAL BENDI (Ladies Fingers) - the stickeness
of the ladies fingers lies in the sambal belacan
provides a great kick of taste of the chilli

SAGO DELIGHTS & BUBUR CHA CHA - the sago delight
is made into alike jelly form accompanied with
sweet gula malacca cream gravy while the bubur cha
cha is thick and creamy with the strong taste of
the brown sugar, which is known as "gula melaka"

i felt myself travelling back with a time machine
while entering the washroom, which is totally so
"old school" design

I'll Be Waiting For You

Oh Bong Jun
Johnny Yim

I 'll be waiting for you
You let me know

I 'll be waiting for you

You let me know

( waiting for you )
You let me know

xxx

moment that only runs on iPhone and Android
which was build by a team of 22 people

Path also included a notification for users
to interact with their friends but it is
known as "activity". the notifiation is
shown at the bottom bar and there is
the "activity" page alike the
Facebook "notification" page

EMOTIONS / EXPRESSIONS
the most interesting part is about emotions
it is a interaction for users to interact
with friends of their sharings by a smile,
laugh, frown, gasp and even a love that
represents you "love" the sharing. this shows
that it is more in expressing rather than
giving the dull feedback only with words

INTERACTION BUTTONS
Next, let's look at the choser button. One
button to post photos and videos, who are you
with, where you are, what you're listening to,
what you're thinking, and when you go to bed
and wake up in the next day.

your favourite album of your phone

FRIENDS / PEOPLE

while you share a photo, being at a place,

the location sharing actually works by
searching the location from Foursquare
it works simultaneously with your phone's
GPS or map location finder

MUSIC SHARING

tracklist are searched from iTunes
through searching the song name,
followed by the song's artist

GO TO SLEEP / I'M AWAKE

you can even share with your friends that
have you go to bed or you're awake with
the "go to bed" and "awake" button

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
sharing of your activities can be share to

PATH'S MAIN MENU
the simple menu also shows how the application
seems to be user friendly and allows user to
be a fast learner to catch up with the udpates

PRIVACY SETTING
Path shows a highly recommended privacy
where the user's profile is locked down. Professor
Robin Dunbar from Oxform University proofed
that number of trusted relationships for human
includes 5 best friends, 15 good friends,
50
close friends and family

Path does not need a website for the controlling
it is all settled and experience from mobile device

Well, what are you waiting for ?
